"John Adams" on HBO... help me figure this out.

Does this show suck or not?
I've now watched the first three episodes,
and at times I'm entertained.
Other times, I'm bored out of my skull.

Still though, I can't seem to  pull myself away.
I blame this on the "HBO tractor beam".
Y'know, it sucks you in and forces you to watch
even though the show isn't even all that great.
(see also: Sopranos, last 3 seasons)

One thing I DO know though..
I'm not buying "Pig Vomit" as John Adams.

Your thoughts?

Dude.....(big Jim) I know that them laying in bed for the first 9 minutes was rough....but they had to stres the point that Abigail was REALLY...REALLY....REALLY mad at him for going.....but c'mon....it's pretty damn cool...I love this stuff.....I'm one of a small percentage of people that actually knows what's going on (and I'm not even that smaat !)....anyways, it's cool to watch...I like watching John Quincy become a man and see a future President at the age of 9....it's cool, and there are only 7 episodes so watch it, endure the late night window washing scenes, and enjoy the Benjamin doing what only a man on the Hundred Dollar Bill could do....be a P.I.M.P....I love it...I never knew....so enjoy it...it's more good than it is bad

I happen to find the John Adams series captivating myself. Since I've always liked history that helps, but

as New England residents this is OUR history. I drive through alot of historic cities, Lexington, Boston, Arlington etc, and it's almost like being able to touch the past. I think it's a good series, not boring at all.

Jim, your show is the best one on fnx but gotta disagree with you on this one.  I saw the first two episodes and thought that they were great.  Interesting and factual view of the most important time in American history.  I'm buying Paul G. at John A., too.  He's a great actor (see Sideways).  Like a lot of HBO stuff, it's just really well done.
