i listen to you guys every morning but somehow i missed your discussion on breastfeeding in public and had to listen to the blog.  first of, i have great breasts that are still plenty perky after breastfeeding (i'll send a pic if you'd like) and i'm pretty sure that if i had them out at gamestop or hot topic, none of the guys in there would be complaing. and i'm all for making it legal for women to go topless like in canada.

so now i'm going to rant...  first of all - are we forgetting that that's what breasts are for??  it's natural and there's nothing disgusting about it.  god didn't make breasts just for men to fondle.  i had a baby and i breastfed him everywhere.  i didn't care.  so get over it if it makes you a little uncomfortable.  you wouldn't eat in a filthy mall bathroom so why should i have to feed my baby in a filthy bathroom?  why should i have to run all the way out to my car just because it makes you feel a bit awkward to see me using my breasts for what nature intended?  i'm not even really sure what is inherently disgusting or offensive about it?  maybe you can tell me?  is it an exposed boob?  or is it the act of an infant sucking on it?  would you feel just as weirded out seeing kittens nursing?

secondly - there are plenty of gross things i have to see.  what's offensive to me?  how about fat girls in tight jeans with their guts hanging out -i don't want to see that. why do i have to get exposed to that at the mall? or fat girls in small bikinis at the beach (as if they're fooling someone) - why should i be subjected to that?  or the butt-cracks of fat guys whose pants won't stay up?

finally, as i think you noted, it's about charging women for public indecency (what's more indecent than fat chick's stomaches hanging over their jeans??) - and it's absolutely ridiculous that a mother nursing her baby could be arrested for lewd behavior.  how uptight can we be??

"I just don't want to see ugly Mom boobs and fat babies feeding on them in a restaurant" Big Dork

Hey, Big DoucheBag, why are you looking? You're one step away from saying explicit lyrics should be banned because you might hear them. Its called choice, so shut your fucking mouth and deal with your "most people are dicks" attitude. You can include yourself in that grouping of people asshole

Really?  Why is this even a topic?  Americans are so uptight about any kind of nudity... its really sad.  If you don't want to see it look away.  Its just that simple.

I don't have children, but if I did I would breast feed where ever I felt like it.  Its natural, and if the woman breast feeding is not embarrassed, then you shouldn't be.

Also, my mom told me that the breast pumps are painful, and hard to work, and they just don't work for some women.

I don't think there's anything wrong with breast feeding in public. Discreet moms always seem to have a blanket or a baggy shirt or top handy and the babies are usually happy. Restaurants that promote themselves as a family venue don't mind, and some even go to the extent of offering a side room for quieter dining off peak times. Breast feeding is NOT indecent and sometimes requires a partially exposed (for a few seconds) breast. I say if you love women, love your woman and love those breasts for the pleasure they brought and the nurturing they'll bring. And have some manners - don't stare, because it's impolite.

While I have no issue with people breastfeeding in public, I plan events for a living and what does piss me off is the presumption that I should provide you with a place to breastfeed and/or pump during the meeting or event.  It's called the ladies room.  Or your car.

There is no way in hell I am taking a perfectly good, revenue-generating room offline so that you can take care of PERSONAL business.  I am operating a business here and will happily provide you with this space if you would like to pay the rate that anyone else would to use it.  Nor will I subject my coworkers to the potential discomfort of having you do this in our office and/or conference room.  It is not my problem that you elected to attend this meeting while you are breastfeeding and I am not obligated to provide you with a personal breast-pumping area.  If you need to have a designated space for this, then maybe you need to make the choice to stay home.
