The Sandbox Show Recap 10.9.08 - By Intern Wildman Mike Wildes

6am

The guys give away tickets to see the Smashing Pumpkins with “what’s in grandma’s fridge.” Anthony wins the tickets guessing candy corn.

Gary Susman from Entertainment Weekly checks in with the Sandbox. Gary and the guys talk about the take over of late night TV and how Entertainment Weekly believes Jimmy Kimmel is going to be the king of late night.

7am

Fletcher takes out the Pop Trash throwing out the rumor of Jamie Lynn Spears being pregnant again. Foo Fighters tell un-cool McCain to stop using cool songs. Madonna didn’t invite Sarah “F-in” Palin to her party. Barrack is now called “that one.” Diddy’s blog and the number one reason to watch the today show.

Bill Bellamy calls in to the show. He tells everyone how good of an actor Ryan Reynolds is and talks about his new TV show “Who’s Got Jokes.” Bill reminisces on his MTV “Beach House” days and how he is the originator of the word “Booty Call.”

8am

Today’s Comcast Mega Robo Thunder Phone Query talks about the new bond girl’s disfiguration having 12 fingers. The Query asks: if you’d cut them or keep them? Fletcher says keep them, and most callers feel the same.

The guys talk to Maura from Idolator.com about famous bass players like Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz. Callers call to inform the guys about other bass players that got recognition. Also Weird Al is back! Al has been putting out songs via the internet.

9am

My song is better then your song starts off with reining champion Sue O’Connell defending her title against Nick from Sony Red. Nick picks 80’s classic “O Sherry” from Steve Perry. While Sue picks Lenny Kravitz “Are You Gonna Go My Way.”

The results are in and the people have spoken…. We have a new champion! Nick from Sony wins over Sue by just one vote.

The WTF Line: Topsfield fair traffic, Big Jim Rules, free butterfingers in vending machine at the financial building. Airborne Toxic Event’s song = the number one break up suicidal song. Fake apologies to Fletcher for his trombone playing; and more Celtic Pre-season talk.

Today’s Finisher: The Dinosaurs…
